Is El Médano safe?
Yes! El Médano is a calm and safe place with a strong surf culture. On the main beach there are elevated towers with lifeguards who monitor the water with binoculars. The lifeguards have jet skis with stretchers for rapid rescue operations.
Police presence
Visible foot patrols and police vehicles. El Médano is monitored by CCTV. During my stay I did not see any incidents requiring police intervention.
