My experiences in El Médano
I have stayed twice in the El Médano area. Both attempts with a cheap shared flat ended badly. If you really want to relax, sleep well and enjoy your holiday, choose your own apartment or a hotel instead.
Why I do not recommend shared accommodation?
- Low standard – small rooms, dirty bathrooms
- Far from the beach and bus stop (1–2 km uphill)
- Problems with flatmates (mess, stolen food, noise)
- Risk of fraud – nice photos vs. reality on arrival
Recommendation
It is worth paying €100–150 more per week and staying in a quality apartment with a sea view. Search only on reputable platforms (Booking, Airbnb with good reviews) and always sign a contract.
